The brand is a tribute to the Mod subculture, which originated in England in the late 1960s. This movement was created by a generation of young people with a deep passion for fashion, music and motorized scooters, seeking freedom and independence.

Since then, the term Mod has been used over the years to generally describe anything that was believed to be popular, fashionable or modern. "Move and learn" was the maxim.
