Nike

Nike is one of the most famous brands in the world, born from the intuition of a young student and his coach. The name is inspired by the Greek goddess of victory Nike, a winged goddess able to move at high speed, the logo is just a reference to the wings of the goddess and, more precisely, the curved movement of the wings of the sculpture of Pythocritus.

However, neither an ingenious idea nor the best logo in the world would have been enough to make Nike the cultural phenomenon it has become today, the keystone was to bind itself to internationally renowned athletes and the first major sponsorship arrived in 1978 with tennis player John McEnroe.

Later, thanks to numerous sponsorships of the most promising athletes and teams, Nike became what it is today.
