Year 1997: while the epic of the "Titanic" dominates cinemas all over the world, Tony Blair celebrates his electoral success in England and the Schalke 04 wins the UEFA Cup, also from Lowa you can breathe the air of change. Werner Riethmann and his development team were working on a new production method for excursion shoes, with the aim of making them much lighter. The typical feature of running shoes and free time became the basis of a new way of making excursion shoes. For the first time, Lowa made a shoe whose sole had not been glued, but directly injected. Thus was born the Renegade model.
