This seventh edition has been completely redesigned, combining a simplified mesh upper with new soft foam for superior comfort. The increased sole height offers a more cushioned feel, while the redesigned outsole ensures optimal running on all terrains.
Inspired by gravel tires, the outsole features smaller, closer-spaced lugs in the center and larger, more aggressive lugs on the perimeter, improving traction on uneven terrain. The shoe features an extended heel tab for an easy fit, an engineered mesh upper for optimal breathability and laces made with 70% recycled nylon and 30% recycled polyester.
The compressed EVA foam midsole offers a soft feel underfoot, while the Durabrasion rubber outsole ensures durability and grip on various terrains. HOKA Hoka One one
The brand first made a name for itself in the running industry by producing shoes with oversized soles, dubbed "maximalist" because of the extra cushion, as opposed to the minimalist shoe trend that was gaining popularity when the company was founded in 2009.
The initial goal of the prototype was to improve endurance race times by designing a shoe that would allow for faster downhill running.
Once completed, it was discovered that the shoes were able to improve uphill running as well, helping an athlete tackle 100km in difficult conditions, thus improving the performance of all runners.
